NYC & Sergeant

Yesterday I made a terrarium and it became the home for our new pet, Sergeant. He lives on our coffee table. Sometimes we have to move him because the cats like to eat his food. . . and possibly him. He's pretty low key.

Also!---Cally and Josh came to visit! We had a wonderful time. Friday night consisted of drinks and Phase 10. I know, big surprise. Saturday we slept in a little then drove to the Ferry which took us into the city. We had planned to get dinner at The Frying Pan but due to crazy random setbacks plans changed. Everything ended up being fine. We ended up eating at some random cute pizza place and then we headed to Upright Citizens Brigade. The show was hilarious as always. After the show we took the subway to Times Square. Cally and I explored Forever XXI while the guys people watched outside. Eventually we headed back to Princeton and fell asleep. Sunday we went into Lambertville and New Hope, had a delicious lunch then wandered
around the cute towns.

Monday morning Josh and Cally headed to D.C. for their next leg of the trip and I headed to work. We had a wonderful time together. Moving back to Florida will be sooo exciting. Our best friends leaving was sad, but this past weekend we were reminded of how wonderful Princeton can be including the lovely people that live here with us.

With that said, this past weekend has been lovely! I hung out with our friends Katie and Kurt (Zach was at work) and then on Sunday Zach and I went to a new church and ran into friends Katrina and Johnny. Happy days.

Also, Zach has to wear a suit for work. Doesn't he look so nice! Love him.

Miss you and love you all.

Big Black Monster of Sadness/Jealousy. Watch Out.

Sometimes this is how I feel.

My next post will be about the awesome time we had this past weekend with Cally and Josh. . . .but for now I will leave you with this.

Side Note: People enjoy looking through facebook for a number of reasons. One---because it's fun to keep in touch with friends who live far away via pictures and status updates. Two---We enjoy being notified when someone gets engaged/married/has a baby/etc. Three---It's comforting to be reminded that everyone had poo-esque days. Four---If you go on an awesome trip we enjoy seeing the awesome pictures. I encourage people to share those poo days. And yes, I do realize that the effect that facebook has on me sometimes directs us to the greatest point of all. . . .it might just be time for me to say adios to Bejeweled for good.

Miss you and love you all.

Zach is old.

This past weekend Mr. Grant turned 25! I took off Monday so that we would be able to have one more day of extended fun. Which is what we did. Friday evening I prepared Zachs Annual Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. Batman style of course. It ended up being kinda sloppy but the goal is to see Batman in the end. . . and batman was all over that pie. Plus the pie was bangin. Then we watched some Harry Potter. --side note---our neighbors own every Harry Potter movie and book. They also gave us the option of wearing Harry Potter attire while watching/reading. They said they were kidding about the clothes. . . .but I don't believe them. I am convinced they are using their linen closet as a Harry Potter dressing room/shrine. Awesome.

Moving on. . .Saturday morning we woke up and headed to Hamilton for Bad Teacher. Given our luck with movies we expected to be surrounded by annoying people. Which is what happened. Like never before. The women---all 5 of them--- were yelling and making comments throughout the whole movie. It was insane. They might have been insane. Afterwards we headed to Cranbury for The Book Worm. We were in search of 2 books for Zach. No luck, but always a treat. Also Zach got a Dr. Pepper ICEE. If you know Zach, then you know this is a big deal. We went home and relaxed a bit then headed out to dinner. Zach's criteria consisted of a place where he could eat a burger that included bacon. So we headed to Winberies and had an amazing meal. yum yum. After dinner we decided to have another go at the movies. So we watched Green Lantern. So good and no annoying people. Wonderful. Sunday we headed to Atlantic City! Definitely pretty nasty area. I mean it just looks really run down and ghetto. The boardwalk looks cool. . . but definitely a sketchy place. We hung out mostly in the casino, pool, and the beach. Since we were new players at the Casino we were each given $25 slot cards. Which was awesome! I made $25 back in cash. Very exciting. After the slots we headed over to the tables where Zach joined a table of college age people. They were a lot of fun and the dealer, Kimmy, was a blast and super helpful. Zach managed to win $75 on top of what he bet while I enjoyed the drinks. In the end we walked away with $50. It was a lot of fun.

Oh yeah! We ate dinner at this A-MAZ-ING place called the Knife and Fork. Our food was delicious and the place was beautiful. Sooo great.

We had a wonderful weekend. So yay for good times.

In other news. . .here are some pictures from our farmshare. Either me and Zach or our neighbors (the ones who love Harry Potter A.K.A. the Womacks) go every Thursday to pick up our delicious fresh goodies. It's a lot of fun to go there and pick your own herbs and peas. And then everything else is already bunched up for you. So easy.
Wonderful last few days. ALSO, Cally and Josh are coming to visit us sooo soon! Phase 10? Heck yes we will (please guys?)

Love you and miss you all.

A Whole Month? Really?

A month:

Rhode Island. So nice, wonderful, relaxing. . . .

Antique shop in R.I. contained this marvelous wall of old cameras. So good.

Our favorite goat at the Big Red Barn Antique Shop Place.

The handiwork of one of our dear patients.

I'mnotevengonnalie. . . .This month has been exhausting. I know there is some small part of me that is actually happy to be living in good ol' New Joysee. . .but I am pretty sure that living here in the Summer shrinks that positive part of me and hides it somewhere that is very hard to find. Tough times these days. Certainly not all days, but some days. I am lucky/blessed/happy to have such a wonderful person to get me through those days.

Plus, racquetball, Rita's, walks whilst on the phone with friends who live far away, date nights, skirts, Westerly Road Church services, kitties, moments at work when we all start laughing about something inappropriate, thinking about the future, and good friends keep me pretty happy most of the time. Sotheresalsothat.

Miss you and love you all.

Also. . .

Today I found this. . . and the rest of my wedding videos. Soo wonderful. Thanks Dane Ingram!

Ringing Rocks

Last weekend Zach and I visit this awesome place called Ringing Rock Park. ---Which is where we found this little wormy guy.--- The park is about an hour away from Princeton, actually right around where Zach did his internship. Zach was eager for me to see the area so we finally made the trip. It was a wonderful day. We took out time exploring French Town, River Rock Park, and driving up and down the Delaware River.

The park is basically a dried up riverbed of all of these rocks. When you hit the rocks with a hammer----the hammer that you bring with you on your trip----they sounds like bells! It's pretty cool. Zach loved it. . . .I just sat there watching walk further and further out hitting rocks as he went. So happy the whole time.

That evening we headed back to Princeton and enjoyed delicious Mehek Indian food while watching a movie. A wonderful day and a wonderful night. I love my hubsband.

Miss you and love you all.

Crafty Poker Time

This weekend was beautiful and relaxing. Friday night Zach planned a date night in. He made a steak dinner complete with dessert. So yummy. While we enjoyed dinner we watched How Do You Know. Pretty cute movie. Not crazy good. Saturday morning we headed to Cranbury for their town wide garage sale. Zach got a Steven King book and I sadly found nothing. After exploring the garage sales we headed to Teddys for lunch. So yummy. We also went by the Book Worm in search of a very key item for my afternoon art project and some more Wheel Of Time books for Zach. Once we got home it was crafty time! We needed to get Zach a Kindle case before something horrible happened to it but they are all so stupidly expensive so I decided to make one! I found different ideas online but ultimately my hodge-podge mixture/experiment worked out quite nicely. Here's the How To:

So fun and so easy! Saturday night our friends came over for another poker night. We still didn't bet money. I am pretty sure we decided the next time we play there will be at least a $5 buy in.

This weeks Poka Faces:

Sunday was a wonderful way to end the weekend. I went back to Westerly Road Church again with the Hedges. The pastor spoke on 1 Corinthians and its importance--setting the tone for the next few weeks. I think I am really going to enjoy this series. I made lunch and sat on the couch an appropriate Sunday amount. Enjoyed dinner with Zach. Then went on a three mile walk while the whole time talking to one of my best friends in the whole wide world the whole time. Miss Dani-Pants Mitchell. Soooo wonderful.

Miss you and love you all.

Once again thanks to Rae for most of the poker pictures. Best camera ever.
